I claim the title "THEbikerlawyer" out of confidence that no lawyer loves motorcycles
more than I do. I do all my own maintenance and repairs on my little collection
(2001 FLHT; 1997 FXSTC; 1967 FLH; 1981 GS1100; 1975 Triumph Trident) keeping
most of them running most of the time. After college, while waiting to go on active duty
in the Air Force, I spent 6 months without a car commuting 33 miles each way on two
wheels, in the Virginia foothills in the winter. When I went on active duty, I moved by
UPS and rode a Gold Wing from Virginia to Texas by way of Colorado. My grandfather
rode an Indian in 1912, My Dad passed away while riding his motorcycle, two of my three
brothers ride regularly and one of them was a career motorcycle cop for twenty years in
California. My sons are on dirt bikes. As to the law practice, I find that my pre-law
education and employment as a Mechanical Engineer, and my survival of multiple
motorcycle crashes on the race track and the road way, ten years as an insurance defense
lawyer for motor vehicle accidents, followed by eight years as Plaintiff's attorney for motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, gives me a unique and valuable "inside track" for protecting the rights of bikers and their passengers who have suffered at the hands of careless motorists.
